MVS - Microbiological Validation Services

Our Services

Services offered by MVS Ltd.

Environmental Monitoring:

Monitoring of customer Clean Rooms/packing rooms, to include particle counts, surface monitoring, settle plates or active air sampling, water and fluids testing.

The monitoring gives confidence that the manufacturer is in control of the routine production and packaging of devices/instruments. A site visit also provides the opportunity to informally audit working procedures.

Bioburden Testing:

Bioburden testing of the finished product is part of the routine testing programme to provide ongoing evidence that the sterilisation process will be effective in providing the required Sterility Assurance Level, regardless of the chosen method of sterilisation.

Water, Detergent, and Fluid testing:

These tests are designed to ensure that the fluids coming into contact with the product, or used in routine cleaning procedures, are of an acceptable standard, and will not jeopardise the quality of the finished product.

Sterility Testing:

Sterility testing of the product, as part of a sterilisation validation programme, supports Sterility Assurance Level claims. This method may also be employed to support shelf life claims as part of an ageing validation programme and package integrity testing.

In all cases, samples may be taken by the customer and sent to the MVS laboratory for testing, or taken during routine site visits by MVS Ltd.

Hygiene Awareness training:

An easy to understand session designed to help Clean Room personnel and packing operatives appreciate the rules regarding entry into and work practices in Clean Rooms.

This session is usually carried out on site, at the time of a routine visit, to keep costs to a minimum.

One day "Understanding Microbiology" course:

A more in depth course for managers, supervisors and other relevant personnel, designed to give a clear understanding of the importance of microbiological testing in the device manufacturing process.

The course covers the principles involved, the types of tests employed, the use of data, the relevant standards and much more. Again, the training course is usually carried out at the client's premises, for up to twelve attendees.

Elise Crowther and Kevin Gidney are also able to provide a consultancy service, perform hygiene audits, and offer advice as requested by clients, ensuring complete comfort and confidence in the product at all times.
